This project involved the renovation of an athletic facility through replacement of the track surface, drainage improvements, and conversion of an aging grass field to a new turf playing surface. The increased impervious area required stormwater quality approval through MSD, including the design of a nested bioretention basin supported by retaining walls.
VonArx Engineering provided site design, stormwater management, retaining wall design, and permitting coordination with MSD, St. Louis County, Missouri DNR, and utility providers. The project successfully navigated a complex review process, incorporating treatment area documentation, new concrete curb, retaining walls, and a 0.5-acre bioretention basin.
The improvements included approximately $950,000 in infrastructure investment.
