PROJECT OVERVIEW

Engineering Built Around the Project

VonArx Engineering provided site design and construction documents for improvements to the John Burroughs School baseball field. The project included replacing the existing grass field with a synthetic turf playing surface, upgrading drainage, and adding concrete curbs, retaining walls, and other site improvements.

The increase in impervious area required stormwater quality approval from the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. To meet these requirements, we designed a 0.5-acre bioretention basin within the retaining wall system and documented the exchange of stormwater treatment areas across the site.

We supported the project through permitting and approvals involving MSD, St. Louis County, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and local utilities. The infrastructure improvements represented an investment of approximately $950,000.
